APA Family Support Services strengthens families with a spectrum of services to prevent and if necessary, treat problems that may occur as a result of stress, barriers and challenges of language, finances, and lack of resources. The majority of clients are immigrants. We serve and outreach to over 7,000 clients annually at 8 sites in San Francisco. Services include:
- Parent Support including parenting education, support groups, health education, Early Literacy, Economic Self-Sufficiency Project (Prevention)
- Home Visitation provided by bilingual and bicultural staff (Early Intervention).Clinical Services (Crisis Intervention) which include bilingual counseling, school-based behavioral health services, Enhanced Visitation, case management.
- Community Development is headed by APA's Asian and Pacific Islander Family Resources Network (APIFRN), a collaboration of 22 linguistically and culturally competent family resource agencies in San Francisco.
- Confidential Counseling is available to families or to individual family members. The API HOTLINE is a resource to parents and youth in times of stress and crisis.
